The Secrets of GTA: Liberty City Stories
by gtaadmin on 21/03/09 at 6:08 pm
The following is a list of Easter Eggs, References, Secrets, Fun Finds or just basically anything interesting about GTA: Liberty City Stories that people might miss.
I have not credited individuals with any of these finds as usually multiple people find these things at the same time and it only causes arguments if one is given credit for something over another. However, I will be making a "Thank you" list which will include the names of those that I credit with making me aware of some of this page's content.
I search for these myself as well as checking web forums to see if anyone else has found something interesting. I often visit GTAForums - LCS Secrets & Easter Eggs which actually started long before the game was even released.
I had planned on featuring a spoiler warning system, where each entry would have a Spoiler Level indicating how much it would spoil the storyline for you if you haven't yet completed it. So far I haven't included this so just take note of the following:
BEWARE: The Following Includes Spoilers
Easter Eggs, Secrets & Finds in Liberty City Stories
"Hello again!" sign. - Category: Easter Egg
This is in exactly the same place as the "You werent supposed to get here you know" sign from GTA 3. It's a nice little hello from the game makers to those that go looking for the old sign.
To find it go to the parking area behind the Liberty Tree offices. Follow the wall on the right around until you reach the place where it is shortest. You will need a high vehicle (e.g. Trashmaster) to jump from to get over the wall (you will probably need to jump on something first just to get you on top of the Trashmaster too) and you will find the new sign in the corner.
Grave Yard - Category: In-Game development
To the west side of the Staunton Island Cathedral is a small grave yard that isn't there in GTA3. Throughout the game new graves are added to feature characters that Toni kills. Not all characters appear, but the following graves are seen:
Giovanni Casa - "GONE"
Dan Sucho - "Dead an' what not"
Cedric "Wayne" Futheringay
Joseph Daniel O'Toole - "Sleeping with angels" (vibrator left by headstone).
Vincenzo Cilli - "Not so lucky after all"
Roger C. Hole - "Running For Office In Heaven"
Paulie Sindacco - "Viva Las Venturas Baby"
Sex Club 7 - Category: In-Game development

After Staunton Island is opened, "Paulie's Revue Bar" in Portland changes appearance. It now resembles Luigi's Sex Club 7 which is due to replace it by the time of GTA3.
TW@ - Category: GTA Reference

TW@ was an internet cafe featured in GTA 3. In Liberty City Stories it is only just being constructed. Its posters state - "Come and see the grand opening of Tw@"

Around Liberty City (mainly Shoreside Vale) you can see film posters for "Sonny Forelli - A Real Story".
Sonny Forelli was a major character in GTA: Vice City. He was the main "Bad Guy" and was the leader of the Forelli Mafia Family in 1986.
Phil Cassidy - Category: GTA Reference
Phil has previously appeared in GTA3 and Vice City. He owns the "Fully Cocked" store in Staunton Island which stocks more powerful weapons than those found in Ammu-Nation.
Phil can be seen only once in person during the game. It's when he picks up a collection of weapons from Toni at the Ferry port. He comments that so many arms come through these docks that he might be better off moving there - which of course he does because that's where his base is in GTA3.

Avery has previously appeared in Vice City and his image appeared as a neon sign on a casino in San Andreas. He very briefly appears in Donald Love's Shoreside Vale missions. He's fairly prominent, but I guess it's possible people could miss the conection to past games.
Mickey Hamfists - Category: GTA Reference

Mickey was Luigi's bodyguard in GTA3. He appears in LCS as a Leone 'heavy' in the 2 missions where someone gets "Made".
Madd Dogg - Category: GTA Reference

Bully Boys - Category: Rockstar Reference
Around Liberty City (mainly Portland) you will see spray tags for a gang known as "Bully Boys". Could this be a reference to Bully - another game made by Rockstar, the makers of the GTA series.
You can find this tag opposite Maria's apartment and in the Alley where Toni first meets Wayne and his gang in China Town.
Hand Held - Category: Rockstar Reference

You can find this movie poster all around the Red Light District.
Quote: "Pam Stroker in HAND HELD - She's a game girl who wants to press all your buttons"
This is a reference to LCS's being the first "Hand Held" 3-D GTA.

There is a mission in LCS where Toni has a race with a Hot Rod driving character named Sucho. His Full name appears on a gravestone in Staunton Island. It's Dan Sucho. One of the main characters in the film/musical "Grease" is Danny Zuko who races in a Hot Rod near the end of the film.
The name of the mission is "Grease Sucho".

On completion of the mission "Crazy 69" you are awarded the 'Dragon' Jumpsuit. This is a copy of the the one Bruce Lee wears in Game Of Death. This outfit was homaged in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill which also happens to feature a gang named "Crazy 88".
"Lionel" - Category: Film/TV Reference

When Toni visits Salvatore in jail he goes in the guise of a fictional laywer. The Don refers to him as "Lionel". This could just be coincidence or it could be a reference to Lionel Hutz, the lawyer who occasionally appears in The Simpsons.
The Mainframe - Category: Film/TV/GTA Reference

Appears as a radio commercial and as a poster around the city.
It is a spoof of The Matrix and the poster features pedestrian models from San Andreas.
