Regenerating health

Successfully complete both noodle delivery missions with a "Gold" rank.

Miscellaneous GTA: Chinatown Wars Cheats

Upgraded delivery bag

Successfully complete both mail courier missions with a "Gold" rank.

Infinite sprint

Successfully complete all five Paramedic mission levels.

Wetscapade mini-game

There is a Wet Ski mini-game called "Wetscapade" hidden beside a small dock between Lancet and Colony Island. Find the drug dealer near the water's edge in Lancet. From his position, start walking towards the water, and you will practically fall onto the vehicle.

Avoid hotwiring cars

If you enter a car and it needs to be hotwired, simply exit and reenter the car, and it will be started and ready to drive.

Avoid paying tolls

As you approach a toll booth on a bridge, press X to exit your car. If done correctly, your car will glide through the booth. You can then get back in the car without paying the toll and not getting a wanted level.

Quickly extinguish yourself

When you are on fire (for example, after touching a flaming car), blow into the microphone to almost instantly extinguish yourself. It usually takes about two tries.

Super acceleration

While at 0 mph, hold A + Y. Release Y, and your wheels will burnout and you will go fast.

Burning burnout

Get in a very fast car or motorcycle. Hold Y + B, then hold Left or Right to do a spinning burnout. Release Y + B for a speed boosted start with a wheelie. Your burning tire tracks can burn the people behind you.

Go-Kart

Go to the bottom right corner of the first island (where Mikhail Faustin's house is in GTA 4). Go all the way down to the bottom until reaching the last house, then go three houses to the right. Go into the back garden to find a Go-Kart. Note: If it does not appear, go to the front door, and return and it will appear if you are at the correct house.

Easily complete "Store Wars"

To easily complete this mission, first get a police car, and log onto the police computer. Search for an arson crime (fire making criminals). Do the Vigilante mission as usual, but when you kill the criminals, pick up the flame-throwers. Start the "Store Wars" mission, and quickly park two cars at each end so it makes it difficult for the vans to get past. Let the vans drive towards you (or you go towards them). Equip the flame thrower, and hold A for approximately two seconds. The vans will explode very quickly.

"Here Be Dragons!" message

Take a boat to any corner of the map to see the message "Here Be Dragons!" message on the ocean floor.

Change Wanted Levels

Increase wanted level: press L(2), R, Y(2), X(2), R.
Decrease wanted level: press R, X(2), Y(2), R, L(2). Note: This code only decreases the wanted level by one star and must be repeated until it is completely removed.
Explosive Desert Eagle ammunition (turns the pistol into a rocket launcher): press L, R, X, Y, A, B, Up, Down.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Unlockables

Bulletproof Taxis

Complete dropping off 15 people in a row without the timer running out, and all taxi's will become bulletproof when you're in them.

This will not affect your "number of times cheated" stat.

Trophies

When you complete certain tasks you will be rewarded with trophies, which can be found on the trophy shelf in your apartment.

Titanium Briefcase: Find all 80 dealers

GTA: Chinatown Wars Hints

Replay Feature

By using replay feature you can replay all of your favorite missions.

Leaderboards

You can track your criminal career on leaderboards.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars recently debuted on the Nintendo DS and is an amazing game. Released on 17th March 2009, this isn’t the first time the franchise has landed on a portable platform but it is a first for the DS. The same backdrop is used as the game’s predecessors, Liberty City, and the city is huge considering the size of the little DS. Liberty City, of course, is a pseudonym for New York.

It's uncanny that Rockstar was able to squeeze this much information and detail into a tiny DS portable cartridge. The DS game disk is, as usual, the size of a postage stamp. Nevertheless, Chinatown Wars looks, sounds and plays like one of its console predecessors.

Owing to the fact that there are no licensed songs used in the game, the music, although good, does just blend into the background. Also, there is little to no voice acting.

There is a mass of mischief you can get up to, including:

hot wiring a car

disarming a bomb

hacking a security system

driving taxis for fares

slaying pedestrians

Even though Chinatown Wars sports a top down perspective, some may find that this actually makes exploring the vast city more manageable than being immersed the street-level view offered by GTA IV. And this 2 dimensional view has the added bonus of making driving much easier. Notwithstanding the top down view, there are still the land marks and layout that will often tweak a memory of running around as Nico.

GTA: Chinatown Wars - Adult Nature

This title is definitely for adults only as there is:

sexual innuendo

profanity

graphic violence

frequent reference to drug use

This title is thoroughly deserving of its “M” rating - meaning it’s intended for “mature” audiences, or players age 17 and older. However, as the Nintendo DS is popular among the under-age-17 set, releasing such an adult themed title to this console invites controversy.

GTA: Chinatown Wars Plot

The story is told in a graphic novel style using still images and subtitles with the odd animated section scattered throughout, rather than the more customary in-engine 3D cutscene.

The protagonist is Huang Lee, a spoiled rich kid who arrives from Hong Kong carrying an ancient ceremonial sword (the "Yu Jian"). The sword belonged to his father, the leader of the Triads, who is murdered. He now intends to hand over the sword to his uncle, Wu Lee. Shortly after arriving in Liberty City, Huang is beaten up and left for dead, while his attackers make off with the sword. Of course, Huang has to find the sword and return it to his uncle.

Missions are given by his scheming uncle, sociopathic rivals and strung-out cops, to name a few. However, in addition to the official missions, Chinatown Wars also offers an amazing array of mini-games and side quests. For example, players can deliver noodles, drive taxis, race, hijack ammunition vans and buy and sell drugs.

GTA: Chinatown Wars Weapons

The following dazzling assortment of weaponry is available to Huang:

Handguns

Pistol

Twin Pistols

Revolver

Sumarine Guns

Micro SMG

SMG

Shotguns

Shotgun

Stubby Shotgun

Double barreled shotgun

Rifles

Assault Rifles

Carbine Rifle

Sniper Rifle

Heavy Weapons

Flame Thrower

RPG

Minigun

Projectiles

Flashbangs

Molotov Cocktails

Grenades

Proximity Mines

Special Melee weapons

Taser

Nightstick

Baseball bat

Chainsaw

Sword

GTA: Chinatown Wars Reviews

The Guardian calls Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars “an incredible achievement and testament to the extraordinarily uncompromising vision” of Rockstar Games, the game’s manufacturer.

Video game review site GamePlasma praises the game’s broad range of options: “Everything from chainsaws to flamethrowers are available for players and each has its own delightful and chaotic use in the many in-game missions.”

The highest new entry in the UK sales charts (in the individual platforms chart) is Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars at number five, with Chart-Track indicating the well-reviewed title sold around half that of the launch week of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories on PSP. Rockstar are hoping that this title will mirror other major Nintendo format releases and perform better in its second week.

However, Resident Evil 5 retains the number one spot - and in fact the entire top four positions are identical to last week. Despite a 52 percent drop in combined sales, Capcom’s record-breaking sequel still topped the individual and all-platform charts.
