Grand Theft Auto IV (GTA IV), developed by Rockstar North, is the ninth game in the Grand Theft Auto series. GTA IV was released on 29 April 2008 in Europe and North America and on 30 October 2008 in Japan for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. November brought the release of the PC version of the game.

GTA IV Storyline
Niko Bellic is lured by his cousin's stories about the American into leaving his troubled past in Europe to start life afresh in the US. Together, he and his cousin (Roman Bellic) plan to make their fortunes in Liberty City. However, all does not go according to plan and they slip deeper and deeper into debt. They get dragged into the shady underworld of criminals and sociopaths in a city that worhsips money and status while they have none.
Niko Bellic is a tough guy originating from Eastern Europe. While his life was taking a downturn in Europe he received emails from his cousin Roman who lied about how well he was doing in Liberty City. The real motive for persuading Niko to come is that Roman is in big trouble and needs help.
After arriving in Liberty City, Roman is the only person that Niko knows, and Roman exploits this dependance.
Making Money In GTA IV
There are many ways to make money easy in GTA IV and you, as the player, can spend this money on a variety of things. Such things include clothes and hotdogs.
Rockstar Games On Choosing New York
When asked why Rockstar Games chose New York City, AKA Liberty City, to be the home of GTA IV, Dan Houser responded with this:
[New York City] is an environment we felt had never been done to the level we were envisioning it in a video game. From looking at all of the locations, this was the one that really stood out to us, and really had that impact. It has all of these iconic things that you couldn’t put into a game before.
GTA IV is the fifth game in the series to use the Liberty City as its setting. Other games to use the city were the original Grand Theft Auto in 1997, GTA 3, GTA Advance and then Liberty City Stories.
GTA IV Episodes
There are two episodes planned for GTA IV. The first one was called The Lost and Damned and was released on 17 February 2009. The second episode of GTA IV is due for release before the end of the year.
